VAMPIRE FACELIFT
The Vampire Facelift is a state-of-the-art cosmetic treatment. It combines injections of dermal fillers and platelet-rich plasma from your own body. In other words, your own blood is injected back into your face with fillers. Then microneedling is done on the external skin. The application of PRP below the skin surface as well as on the surface allows the patient to better take advantage of all the rejuvenating properties.
While this may sound terrifying to some patients, the concept behind the procedure is pretty simple. Your platelets contain various growth-inducing properties. When injected just under the facial skin layer, they promote tissue growth and collagen synthesis. The platelet injections work in conjunction with the dermal fillers to smooth wrinkles and lessen the effects of loss of facial volume.
WHO IS A VAMPIRE FACELIFT CANDIDATE?
Most healthy adults seeking to restore color, volume, and a healthy skin glow to their face are excellent candidates.
The Vampire Facelift is ideal for treating patients with:
- Thinning facial skin due to aging
- Fine line and coarse wrinkles
- Dropping facial skin and loss of plumpness
- Scarring from past surgeries or acne
- Uneven skin color and tone
- Dark circles and bags under the eyes
- Crow’s feet
- Harshly damaged skin due to sun exposure
WHAT TO EXPECT
The procedure typically takes 60 minutes, depending on the number of areas that are being treated. During your procedure, the professionals at Trillium Medical Aesthetics & Gynecology will draw your blood.
Then your blood will then be placed into a centrifuge, which separates the platelets from the rest of your blood cells. While the blood is spinning in the centrifuge, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the face. When the platelets are ready, the platelet rich plasma is reintroduced above and below the skin.
Your platelets work to activate stem cells in your skin for rejuvenation. Dermal fillers are also used during the procedure to give added volume and support to the young cell growth induced by the platelet injections.
In addition to being non-surgical, the procedure comes with very little recovery time. You can easily go about your daily routine after your Vampire Facelift. Shortly following treatment, patients may experience redness, swelling, and tenderness that is similar to sunburn. Bruising is rare but does occur in some patients. Any redness or swelling should subside a few days after your procedure. The multiple injection sites may cause a rough-feeling skin texture for up to a week following treatment.
